[EXCLUSIVE] K-Pop Night Out at Music Matters Live 2012 in Singapore

K-Pop Night Out was staged on May 24 at the heart of Clarke Quay, the Fountain Square which is the main stage for Music Matters Live 2012. Artistes present during the K-Pop Night Out included legendary hip hop pioneer Drunken Tiger, Tasha Yoon Mirae, Bizzy, M.I.B, BtoB, Clazzi, J'Kyun and Rhythm King.

With the speakers doing their job of amplifying the performance over the area, it was no wonder passer-bys, including tourists visting the area, would be enticed to stop and be blown by the powerpack performance from these Korean artistes.

Rhythm King was up first to kick off K-Pop Night Out. With band members on the drums, bass, keyboard, guitar and vocals, the band got the audience hyped up and grooving to the beat. BtoB was one of the popular groups that night as cheers resounded for them before they even got on the stage. The audience was mesmerized by the steadiness of their live performances despite the heavy dance routine. Fans of BtoB also got to watch them perform their first live performance of Irresistible Lips, right before their eyes.

J'Kyun was next up on the main stage. He showed off his rapping skills and introduced to the audience as the Prince of Hip hop in Korea. This artist smiled all the way through his performance and interacted with the audience. It was as if the entire area had turned into a large outdoor club when Clazzi revealed his dj mix of different genres. Audience in the area were seen moving along to the beat. The DJ also collaborated with Lee Seung Yeol, Jinsil and MYK to stage three more songs, one of which was Be My Love from the famous Korean drama My Name is Kim Sam Soon.

The Jungle Entertainment artistes were the last act for K-Pop Night Out. M.I.B was up first with their hip hop performances. The audience was definitely hyped up as they chanted along to the song G.D.M (Girls, Dreams, Money). Old-time rapper Bizzy took the stage next as he displayed his raps before Drunken Tiger joined him and performed together. They were rocking the stage together as the audience were seen putting their hands in the air and enjoying themselves. Last to join the stage was Tasha Yoon Mirae as she showcased her powerful vocals and rap skills. There was no doubt that the audience was blown away by their performances.

Although the audience wanted more, all good things had to come to an end and this was no exception. We could only wait for the day that these artistes will come back to our shores to stage their own individual events.
